What is an each way bet?
Two equal bets in one: a win bet and a place bet. €10 each way costs €20. If your selection wins, both parts pay; if it only places, just the place part pays.
How do place terms work?
The place part is paid at a fraction of the win odds, usually 1/4 or 1/5. At 10/1 with 1/4 terms the place part pays at 5/2, so a €10 place stake returns €35.
When is each way worth it?
Each way suits bigger prices where a place is realistic. At short odds the place part can return less than your total stake, so a placed favourite can still lose you money.
